The ZEROfamily program started early 2009 and more than 100 families with 406 family members have participated in the learning process. The families have been inspired to improve energy efficiency in their homes, transportation, cooking and other habits. Special programs and events have been organized to engage kids and teenagers in the learning process.
The families have on a monthly basis reported their energy/water consumption figures to a database along with their best practice suggestions.
In January 2010 the final evaluation took place based on 35 families’ data and remarks. The average saving for 2009 was app. 20% on heat/power and water with the best practice in the rage of 40%. After one year of learning the families now recommend a consultant to review their home as next step.
